The storm continues to churn down the bayou as the Bayou Hurricanes downed visiting Jesuit of New Orleans 31-19 at Raceland Recreational Center.
The Hurricanes drew first blood with a try by outside center, Zavier Triplett, which was converted by winger Tyler Menefee. Jesuit would quickly strike back with a try of their own, missing the conversion.
The Hurricanes then went on a scoring spree before the half with Zavier Triplett scoring again and fullback Brandon Sanders also touching down. Menefee would convert both and add 3 more from a penalty goal making the score 24-5 at half-time. The second half opened with the Hurricanes striking first again with a try from 8-Man, Andres Auruz, which was converted by Menafee. That would be the last of the scoring for the Hurricanes and as the storm started to dissipate the visitors would sneak in 2 late converted tries in the final 5 minutes of the game for a 31-19 score line at the final whistle.
The Hurricanes remain undefeated in the league, maintaining the top spot in the Deep South High School Rugby Conference. They will continue league play on March 19th against Brother Martin, but will face Tennessee High School Rugby team, German Town, next.
