Cuba Hosting New Rugby Tournament

It has been known that the relationship between the US and Cuba have been improving. The most recent news of changes came with the reopening of the USA Embassy in Havana. It looks like there are some greater efforts being made, without direct government assistance. The Copa de Armstead or Friendship Cup, is being formulated to be played in November 5, 2016.

The Copa de Armstead is a non-profit, over 40 years old, Rugby tournament that has been masterminded by Australians, Rowan Ward and Greg Sadil. In a press release, Ward and Sadil posted that this tournament is made with the intentions of increasing the growth of Rugby in Cuba, as well as create a fundraising campaign for other non-profit organization that focus on youth character development. The Copa de Armstead is currently looking for more participants to enter.
