Deep South Rugby Conference Predictions – Week 7

Louisiana Tech University vs Tulane University

The pressure falls on Tulane who needs a win to secure a bonus point to knock out ULL out of second place. The Green Wave won a tough match against Spring Hill last weekend. Tulane boasted a quick and skilled back line and eight man, Billy Stewart, was key in the forward pack. La Tech snagged a easy forfeit win over the weekend against South Alabama and still sit at the top of the conference. This is going to be an exciting and electric match up and THE game to watch this weekend. I am taking La Tech to sneak away with a 10-7 victory.

University of Southern Mississippi vs Spring Hill College

Absolute no brainer. Spring Hill lost a well fought match to Tulane last week but the team is looking stronger than ever. The Badgers have seen much improvement in the back line and have returned star forward, Mike Short, back into the lineup who was out due to illness. Southern Miss has forfeited every game this whole season. Badgers win by forfeit but if if they play an unofficial game, which they will, Badgers still win 30-0.

University of South Alabama vs University of Louisiana Lafayette

ULL gave Troy the business as they defeated them 61-12. ULL has continued to look sharp throughout the season and are in a must win situation if they want to stay in second place and have a chance to compete for the championship. South Alabama has struggled for numbers this season as they currently have two forfeit losses. Truly a shame because when they play, they can be quite the competitive side. I am taking ULL 25-7.
