Bayou Hurricanes Break Through With Another Win

In the Deep South High School Rugby Conference (Louisiana High School Rugby), the Battle of Biggies went down on Saturday as the Bayou Hurricanes (3-0) of Raceland, LA hosted the current state champions, St. Paul of Covington, LA. This was to be one of the biggest heavy weight fights this season and it did not disappoint.

St. Paul’s scored first in the game to set the tone, but that would be all they could put up offensively in this match. The Bayou Hurricanes, who had become very well known for their speed and athleticism, were throttled offensively, but turned up defensively. Both teams played tough, stout defense through the game. Hunter Breit, Andreas Arauz, and Demery Rener would end up scoring Tries for the Bayou Hurricanes, finishing the game 17-5, putting the Bayou Hurricanes record at 4-0 for the season, and St. Paul’s would mark their first loss of the season falling to 2-1.

The Bayou Hurricanes will take on Jesuit next, while St. Paul’s will rectify themselves against Brother Martin.
