Nate Ebner Back In The Super Bowl

We have to give a shout out to Nate Ebner as he is heading to his third super bowl in his five year NFL career with the New England Patriots.

If you don’t know the relevance of this to rugby, Nate Ebner was a life long rugby player who played for Ohio State University, before joining the college football team as a Special Teams player. His impact on the Ohio State Football special team would peak the interest of the New England Patriots where they drafted him in the 6th round of the 2012 NFL draft. Ebner was a member of the USA Men’s Eagles Olympic Rugby Sevens team this past summer, and has represented the USA in a few tournaments.

last night, the New England Patriots defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers, 36-17 to win the AFC Championships. Ebner and the Patriots will be fighting to win their second championship, in Ebners 5 year career, against the Atlanta Falcons, and fifth championship in the franchises history.

It’s absolutely awesome to watch rugby guys doing well, even if it is in other crossover sports. As they show off their talents in other sports, we hope that it continues to prove the many skills that are used in rugby that relate to other sports and attracts new players to the sport.

Congratulations to Nate Ebner for his continued success!
