
#14 Louisiana State University (9-0 overall; 6-0 conference) will be hosting their first D1A playoff game against #12 University of Arizona (7-5 overall; 2-3 conference) on April 16, 2016. This will open the first round of the playoffs for the D1A Rugby conference. Both teams entered into this season after a less than stellar 2015 seasons. Arizona entered their first year in the D1A in 2015, but ended with a missed playoff bid. LSU didn’t play at all in 2015, due to a suspension in 2014. Both these teams did not allow their previous seasons, as they decided to come back strong for the 2016 seasons
Both these teams will be without key players in this match. Four starters will be out due to being selected to the Junior All-American team that will be playing for the Junior World Trophy in Zimbabwe.
Arizona will be missing, Hooker, Steven Branham; Prop, Mason Pedersen; and Fullback, Tyler Sousley. LSU will be without Flanker, Brennan Falcon.
