From Texas to California and Florida to Utah, here is your score report for the opening weekend of March! In Men’s Collegiate competition, the Lone Star Conference in Texas crowned it’s State Champions Sunday after a weekend of thrilling sport. Sam Houston defeated UT Dallas 14 to 3 in opening play, followed by Angelo State pushing past Southern Methodist 28-0. In the following matches Dallas topped Abilene Christian 60-0, while Tarleton beat UT San Antonio 21-7. During consolation bracket play UT Dallas defeated Southern Methodist 28-0, and UT San Antonio held Abilene Christian 50-19 to finish their playoff appearance. The following day, Angelo State took the Lone Star State title from Dallas 43 to 22 in regulation.

Shifting gears to the Red River Conference, Texas Tech defeated Houston 139-0 in Lubbock Saturday. Neighboring Texas A&M hosted LSU at home to decide who would face Baylor in the April Championship, and after eighty minutes LSU secured their profile match appearance with a score of 33-10. TCU fell to Arkansas 105-6, and Oklahoma defeated Texas 64-6. Elsewhere, Life cleared out Davenport 27-3 in conference play, as Lindenwood tied Arkansas State 17 all. San Diego State took a loss against St. Mary’s 57-7, and Boise State beat Gonzaga 44-8. In Las Vegas, Arizona stole the victory from Air Force 30-28 whilst Western Washington beat Washington 62-7. In a series of non-conference match ups, Navy won against Dartmouth 29-0, and Notre Dame beat Louisville 25-12. Last but not least, Stanford finished strong with a win over San Jose State 67-12.

In Senior Men’s play, Boca Raton fell to Miami 41-12, and Shreveport defeated Abilene in Texas. Chattanooga topped Knoxville in Matrix play to start off the month of March, while Baton Rogue secured their win over Jackson 32-21. The Austin Hun’s D3 squad saw defeat away from home versus Mcallen 22-13, with Hun’s seeing no tries beyond the 28th minute mark.

In Women’s Collegiate games, Eckerd defeated Florida Gulf Coast in a Senior Day match to be remembered 48-12. In LAs Vegas, Lindenwood took a double header versus BYU and the MisFits Women’s Select Squad. Versus BYU, Lindenwood won 39-5 and versus the MisFits they were victorious 45-12. USC took the win versus Elon via play forfeit, and Stanford defeated Humboldt 67-13. In Women’s Senior action, the Augusta Furies defeated the Atlanta Harlequins 36-7 in conference play.
Pertaining to High School scores, Jesuit defeated Chaparral 45-15 and Rock Rugby fell to Jesuit Dallas 28-7. Lake Travis scored a win over the Quin Colts 43-31, and Cy-Fair was victorious over Katy 17-7.

Hurricane season is starting to warm up down south with a friendly against Christian Brothers in Memphis. Game started a little slow however the scoring for the Hurricanes started with rookie Landon Hewett and then stalwart inside center James Williams would touch down (2) times before half with no conversions for 15-0 at the break. The scoring would continue for the Hurricanes with TJ Folse, Elijah Hayes (SLU Football Selectee) touching down once each and rookie Davin Thompkins touching down twice. Hurricanes would only convert one try and would let Christian Brothers sneak in an unconverted try for a 37-5 final.
The Hurricanes last played against Captain Shreve with a 79-5 winning result and will face St Paul of Covington,La next in league play.
