
Shaw Eagles defeated Brother Martin Crusaders 18-0 on Thursday in City Park, New Orleans, LA.
Strong play by Brother Martin (3-1-1) kept this game from getting out of hand, but Shaw (3-0) won this game with strong defense. Brother Martin controlled the game with time of possession in their opponents territory, but they were unable to turn them into points. Big runs by Brother Martin winger, Fernando Harris, helped keep Brother Martin in Shaw territory. Despite playing in their territory most of the game, Shaw was able to force turnovers at key moments. In the second half, Shaw forced 4 turnovers when they were backed up into their try zone. Defensive turnovers by Shaw inside center, Mason Kramer and flanker, Jacob Wooten, helped keep Brother Martin out of the try zone.
Shaw will be playing Audubon on Saturday. Brother Martin plays St. Paul High School in Covington, LA on March 27th.
