The Goff Rugby Report released their top 40 Fall Men’s D1 Collegiate Rankings for Week 3. Three Southeastern Collegiate Rugby Conference (SCRC) teams made the rankings.
At the 13th spot stood the conference power house, University of South Carolina, who been on a bye week after defeating Kentucky 66-5 on September 19th. Trailing two spots behind is a familiar force, University of Tennessee. The Vols defeated Vanderbilt 72-3 last week to establish their 15th rank.
Also making a statement among the top 40 was University of Alabama. Rolling with momentum from their 34-7 victory over Ole Miss two weeks ago, Alabama went on to defeat in-state rival, Auburn University, last week in a dominant 64-8 win to move to 34th in the rankings.
Though not part of the Southeastern Collegiate Rugby Conference, but still a member of the NCAA Southeastern Conference, ranked at 39th, stands University of Arkansas. Arkansas looked to move up in the rankings with a win against the Oklahoma Sooners last week, but came up short losing 41-25.
Conference play resumes this weekend as Alabama hosts Florida, Tennessee travels to Kentucky, and South Carolina travels to Nashville to face Vanderbilt.
