After a tight match against the Harlequins, last Sunday, the final roster for the Rugby World Cup has been announced this morning.
As has been speculated for the last several weeks, long time face of USA Rugby and former captain, Todd Clever, does not appear on the roster list. The rest of the roster stands out to be about as expected. There are four USA Eagles Sevens players on the roster, including Danny Barrett, Andrew Durutalo, Zack Test and Brett Thompson. AJ McGinty and Thretton Palamo are the must see players for this roster. McGinty has been a player to watch with his excellent kicking and strong decision making which was highlighted during the Pacific Nations Cup and Harlequins match. Thretton Palamo is back in the Rugby World Cup since he debuted at 19 1/2 years old in 2007. After taking some time to play Rugby and collegiate football at University of Utah, he has steadily shown to be a force to be reckoned with with his strong running style.
