Rugby Recap: October 13th – October 15th

As the spooky times near and early Christmas ads appear, rugby across the nation continues forward. Here is your score report for Men’s and Women’s Collegiate rugby!

Men’s D1A

In the Big 10 Conference Ohio blew out Illinois 50-0, while Michigan State won a close match versus Purdue 17-12. Michigan took a win versus Minnesota 21-17, and Wisconsin defeated Iowa.

The Liberty Conference, Stony Brook beat Rutgers 30-22. UMass held off Rhode Island 31-15, while Northeastern pounded Fairfield 40-5. Albany saw victory against Brockport 32-14, and Cortland smashed Colgate 26-0.

In Rocky Mountain fixtures, Air Force bested Wyoming 69-18. Colorado State beat Colorado 45-3, but New Mexico took a hard loss against Utah State 60-7.

In various Non-Conference matches, Army beat Iona 17-13. Notre Dame College beat NEC 58-5, meanwhile Navy sank Dartmouth 19-6. Kutztown annihilated Delaware 110-12, and UConn fell to Boston College 28-7. Davenport took down Notre Dame 36-24, and last but not least Iowa Central Community College defeated Lindenwood-Belleville 28-17.

Women’s D1 Elite

In true Rugger tradition, the Women of Life University faced off versus their Alumni. Experience topped youth in the fixture, as the Alumni took the win 29-12. Lindenwood saw a win versus Tulane 87-0, and BYU Blues defeated BYU Whites 29-20 in their Origin match. Lastly, Penn State beat UVA 89-5.

Men’s D1AA

In Chesapeake competition, Georgetown beat Towson 35-26. James Madison took a solid win over Salisbury 44-28, and Virginia Tech defeated Maryland 59-14.

In SCRC, Kentucky smashed Georgia 80-10. Elsewhere, South Carolina easily handled Mississippi State 84-6.

In the SIRC, KSU defeated Georgia Tech 52-7. FIU blew out UNF 20-0, while FSU beat USF 24-19.

In the Mid-Atlantic fixtures, Saint Joseph’s beat UIP 77-19. West Virginia took a win versus Pitt 32-25.

Women’s D1

In the NIRA, Quinnipiac defeated Army 62-5. Sacred Heart smashed Molloy 83-12 in regulation.
