NOLA Barbarians @ Brother Martin

The NOLA Barbarians are 2-1 on the season and sitting in 3rd place in the High School standings. Brother Martin is 1-3 on the season, and is tied at 5th place with Niceville. Both these teams are coming off big wins over Shaw, with the Barbarians defeating Shaw 22-10 last week, and Brother Martin defeating Shaw, 48-5, on March 2nd. While they both have had dominate wins over similar opponents, the Barbarians have slowly been gaining ground over the course of the season. Starting the season with a tough loss to upstart Shreveport high school team on the road, the Barbarians have found their footing, outscoring their last two opponents 51-20 in their last two games. Brother Martin has struggled this season. Prior to their win over Shaw, they were facing a 3 game losing streak, only able to score 28 total points in those games. The boosted win over Shaw will help build the confidence for this Brother Martin team, but it may not be enough to take out the Barbarians this week. Look for The NOLA Barbarians to win this match close 28-17.

Shaw @ St. Paul’s

(0-2) Shaw will travel to Covington, LA to take on (3-1) St. Paul’s. This will be a tough match for Shaw as they are still trying to come together as a team. They are coming off a big 48-5 loss, on Wednesday, against Brother Martin, as well as a loss to the NOLA Barbarians, 22-10, on February 27th. St. Paul’s is looking to make up for their loss to the Bayou Hurricanes and continue to push towards returning to the Louisiana High School Rugby Championships to defend their title. Look for St. Paul’s to take this match, 30-5.

Mississippi Royal @ Niceville

The Royal and Niceville are both coming off losses to West Jefferson. The Royal have dealt with tough competition, and have yet to catch a major break. Niceville has been has always been a scrappy team. Other than being overmatched by top ranked Bayou Hurricanes, they have found themselves keeping matches close. They have had a difficult getting over the hump, but look for Niceville has a chance to rise back in the rankings. Niceville takes this 19-5.
