NEW ORLEANS — Overcast skies, rain and hard winds did not stop these teams from lighting up the field.
Starting strong from the very beginning, Brother Martin (4-1-1) took the first score of the night 7 minutes into the game. A power run by prop, Andrew Genoice, and conversion by Connor Glennon gave Brother Martin the early 7-0 lead and began the tone for the first half.
Brother Martin dominated the first half with a 19-0 lead at halftime.
Opening in the second half, St. Paul’s (2-4) showed that they were not a team to be pushed over. Taking advantage of penalties by Brother Martin. 8-man, Matt Clark, powers his way in for St. Paul’s first score of the game just two minutes into the second half. A missed conversion made the game 19-5 with 28 minutes remaining in the game.
Brother Martin quickly took back control of the game with scores by CJ Stall and Vincent Duhe. Brother Martin’s was able to quickly get the ball out to their wings, keeping the movement of their game with their Centers and Wings.
Brother Martin won this game 33-12 in a full team effort, with five tries by five different players. Brother Martin will be facing Lake Area on Saturday, March 29th for their last regular season. St. Paul will be playing their final game this Saturday, in Baton Rouge, against Audubon.
