Deep South Rugby Conference Predictions Week 6

University of South Alabama vs. Louisiana Tech University

South Alabama is coming off a close loss to Spring Hill. Although they lost, South Alabama still looked strong and battled closely with Spring Hill throughout the game. Louisiana Tech currently sits at the top of the conference and is undefeated heading into the match. LA Tech is coming off a forfeit against Troy. The week before, similar to South, they had a close game with Spring Hill but pulled away in the end to earn a victory. Louisiana Tech should be able to handle South Alabama and remain undefeated but they must be careful not to underestimate the South back line that features speed demons on the wings. I am taking LA Tech 25-10.

Troy University vs University of Louisiana Lafayette

Troy is coming off a forfeited loss where they should have played LA Tech. Troy has struggled for numbers this season and that has really hurt their season. The week before, Troy lost to a skilled Tulane side. When Troy has the numbers, they tend to be a very competitive side that boasts a very large team that likes to crash often. ULL is currently at a close second behind the only team that dealt them a loss this season, LA Tech. ULL has played great rugby this season and have dominated opponents. They are coming off a much needed bye week and should sail past Troy. In this rematch of last years conference championship, I am taking ULL 28-7.

Tulane University vs Spring Hill College

Tulane is currently tied for 2nd in the conference. Tulane has only been defeated by ULL but has reigned supreme against all of their opponents, throwing up huge scores against South Alabama and Troy. Although they haven’t really been tested this season, they still boast a strong team. Spring Hill is coming a nice win against South Alabama after back to back losses on the road. Spring Hill has really cleaned things up and looked sharp against South. Tough call with this game but I think Spring Hill gives Tulane their first challenge of the season but ultimately, Tulane sneaks away with this one 14-7.
