Memphis (2-3) @ Baton Rouge (4-1)
Memphis travels to Baton Rouge this weekend to try and follow up a dominating home win last week, 53-17 over Jackson. Baton Rouge will be defending the home front this weekend. They are also coming off a big win over Birmingham, 28-10. Baton Rouge hasn’t lost a matrix game at home since February 1, 2014 when they lost to Birmingham 13-10. Memphis has been a much better team at home than they have on the road. On the road Memphis has averaged 39.5 points on offense, but allowed 53.5 points per game. Baton Rouge has defended their home strongly. They have only allowed 13.7 points per game, and have scored an average of 34 points per game.
Baton Rouge has no doubt felt their biggest defensive outputs at home and look to continue to build on that after having a week off last week. Look for Baton Rouge to protect their house this week. Baton Rouge wins 40-22.
Battleship (1-4) @ Birmingham (3-1)
Battleship will travel north to face off against Birmingham. This is not the most advantageous match for Battleship. They have primarily had a tough time field teams on the road. They have only scored one try in 3 road games. Birmingham is back trying to maintain their second place spot in the True South West. Birmingham is playing at high level, plenty of speed from the backlines, too much strength in the Forwards. Even if this is an I-65 rivalry, look for Birmingham to take this match. Birmingham wins 50-5.
Nashville (2-1) @ Hopkinsville (0-3)
Nashville takes on Hopkinsville in Kentucky this week. Nashville has been considered to be the top contender for the second place spot in the True South East division. This will be Nashville’s opening match for the spring season. And Hopkinsville has 3 straight forfeits, both on the road and at home. Look for Nashville to take this win.
Tulsa (4-1) @ Fort Worth (1-4)
Fort Worth will defend their home against Tulsa this week. Fort Worth has been struggling with 1 win on the season. They have allowed 197 total points this season, while only scoring 87 points. Tulsa has been having a tremendous season. They are coming off a big win over divisional rival, Little Rock, beating them at home, 41-27. Tulsa is looking to keep this momentum up and winning this match big. Look for Tulsa to take this game 45-3.
Dallas Athletic (3-2) @ Little Rock Stormers (4-1)
Little Rock Stormers will host Dallas Athletic this weekend, as we get closer and closer to determining the Red River Conference D2 North champions. Little Rock, has suffered some injuries, but have still been resilient. They did lose to current division leader, Tulsa, 41-27 on the road. Dallas Athletic has been on fire this season. Their only losses have been to Little Rock and Tulsa, the two division leaders. Dallas Athletic has gotten all their wins on the road, averaging 30.3 points per game, and allowing 17.3 points per game. Little Rock has been dominate all season before their loss against Tulsa. They were averaging over 53 point per game on offense, with 64 points per game happening at home. Dallas Athletic is going to come in with a chip on their shoulder and a forward heavy offense, but look for Little Rock to maintain their defense of their home. Look for Little Rock to win a close one, 24-22.
