The pandemic forced USA Rugby to become more innovative with the way it was connecting with its membership. As a result, the USA Club Rugby Training and Development Committee was formed. The mission, to provide ways of educating the USA Rugby membership in the areas of coaching, player welfare, and refereeing. I had the chance to speak with:

Mary Swanstrom, the lead for Medical and Wellness education, coming from the Texas Rugby Union

Katie Hunzinger, the lead for Sports Performance and Strength & Conditioning education, representing East Pennsylvania Rugby Union

Joesph Sanchez, lead for coaching development education, representing the New England Rugby Football Union

Olivia Benzan-Daniel, lead for Administrative Development education and coach for the New England Free Jacks Academy, representing the New England Rugby Football Union

and,

Mariah Kalapu, lead for Cultural Competence Education and representing the True South Rugby Union,

who lead the committee in developing these new education platforms.
