Men’s Club Rugby Predictions – Week of February 14, 2015

It is a low action week this week in the Men’s Club Rugby 15s mark, as many players will be partaking in the Las Vegas 7s Tournament this weekend. But there are still a few games going on that people will like.

Florida Rugby Union

Orlando Rugby Club (4-1) at Jacksonville Rugby Club (4-1)

These are two club teams that have been about even matched as they come. Jacksonville scores an average of 40 points per game, though most of that average has come from big wins over the Tampa Bay Krewe and Naples Hammerheads. On the other hand, Orlando has averaged 33.8 points per game, but have a more notable win over a tough Ft. Lauderdale team. Both these teams, having only suffered one loss, have shown that they are capable of putting a balanced output on the field. But of the two teams, it seems that Orlando has been able to take a quality with the win over Ft. Lauderdale. I look for Orlando to take the win in this game.

Nashville Rugby Club (1-1) at Memphis Rugby Club (1-0)

Nashville will be opening their Spring Matrix schedule this season on the road against Memphis. Memphis is coming off a win against Hopkinsville Rugby last week, defeating them 37-15. Nashville hasn’t played a matrix match since November 15th, where they took a win over Hopkinsville 30-21. Memphis is looking to keep their winning streak going and I expect them win this game. Watch out for another strong out put by Memphis players 8-man, Michael Gordan and centers, Steven Cope and Joseph Mertz.

Montgomery Rugby Club (1-1) at Jackson Rugby Club (0-1)

Jackson Rugby will be taking on Montgomery Rugby at home this weekend. Jackson is coming off a Spring season opening loss to Birmingham, 57-5. On the other hand, Montgomery is coming off a win over Battleship last weekend, 29-27. Both teams are still trying to get footing early in the league. Both teams have major losses to Birmingham, though Montgomery fared better against Birmingham losing only 34-18. Jackson is going to look to rectify themselves at home, but I expect Montgomery to take the win in this match.
