Greenville Rugby will be traveling to Charleston to take on the Charleston Rugby Club. Greenville defeated Union powerhouse, Charlotte Rugby, 34-30. Charleston played an out of matrix match against Southern Pines, defeating them pretty handily. This will be a great match up between two very proficient teams. Look for Greenville to build on their success, despite being on the road. Greenville will take this game.

Fort Bragg Rugby Club (0-4) at Charlotte Rugby Club (4-1)

Fort Bragg Rugby will be traveling to Charlotte Rugby Club this weekend. Charlotte will look to make up for their loss from last week. Fort Bragg has been struggling this season, having lost their last game to the Charleston Outlaws 36-0 back in November. Charlotte’s Back Line is just too powerful for this Fort Bragg team. Look for Charlotte to take the win in this game.

Atlanta Old White (3-1) at Life University JV (0-0)

Atlanta Old White is traveling to play in-city opponent, Life University D2. Atlanta Old White has been a powerful team in the Carolina Rugby Union. Bolstering a record 3-1 in matrix play. Their only loss coming against a tough Charlotte team. Life University is already known very strongly for their Rugby acclimate. Life University’s D2 side is as powerful as any. They may be the back ups to a #1 American Rugby Premiership side, they are still practicing against one of the best teams in the country. Look for the Life University D2 side to take this game.

They will be facing a struggling Miami Rugby team that has only had one win in their matrix against the Tampa Bay Krewe. The Knights have been average overall this season, but they have shown some proficiency in scoring. Miami Rugby Club hasn’t been so opportunistic. Miami Rugby has managed to keep their games closes, though they haven’t been able to land the wins. Ft. Lauderdale will take this game against Miami.

Miami Tridents (2-3) at Naples Hammerheads (1-4)

Oklahoma City has shown to be a much better offensive team. Oklahoma City has scored no less than 20 points in their 3 matches, but they have allowed an average of 38 points per game. Despite the poor defense, look for the Crusaders to take the win against Fort Worth.

Little Rock Rugby Club (2-0) at Shreveport Rugby Club (1-1)

Little Rock is traveling 3 hours down south to take on Shreveport Rugby. Little Rock is currently second in the TRU North, and second in the TRU overall. Look for this game to be close, as Little Rock will take the win in this game.

Alamo City Rugby Club (0-2) at Woodlands Rugby Club (2-0)

Alamo City travels out to Austin to take on the Woodlands Rugby Club. Alamo City has not been playing well. They have yet to score a try in their two matches. The Woodlands Rugby is coming down from division 1 into the D2 schedule. Woodlands have come out strong this season with big wins over Bay Area (64-14) and Houston United (28-21). Woodlands are going to have the advantage of homefield and stronger team. Woodlands will dominate for the  win.

True South Rugby Union

Nashville Rugby Club (1-1) at Chattanooga Rugby Club (2-0)

This game is looking like it’ll be the second iteration of the match that took place in the Fall. Chattanooga is easily the top team in the True South Rugby Union and proved so this Fall, defeating Knoxville and Nashville 103-20. Nashville has only been able to defeat one other team in Hopkinsville. Chattanooga will have a repeat effort this week against Nashville and take the dominating win at home.

Look for Memphis to take this game in a close match.

Montgomery Rugby Club (0-1) at Battleship Rugby Club (0-1)

This is the I-65 rivalry. Montgomery going down south to take on Battleship. Both teams are coming up from Division 3 this year. The first games for these teams have been particular tough. Battleship just barely lost to Baton Rouge Rugby 12-17, while Montgomery lost to a tough Birmingham team 34-18. Despite the score difference seeming drastic, look for Montgomery to come down to Battleship Park to take the close win over Battleship Rugby.

Jackson Rugby Club (0-0) at Birmingham Rugby Club (1-0)

Jackson travels to Birmingham to open up their matrix season. Jackson ended last season with heartbreak, losing their last three games of the season and missing the playoffs. Birmingham ended last season second in the True South. They also opened this season with a strong win over Montgomery. Jackson will have a big test against a Birmingham team with home-field advantage. Look for Birmingham to take the dominating win this week.
