Shreveport (1-2) at Fort Worth (1-2)
Shreveport will be traveling to Fort Worth this weekend. It’s been two weeks since either team has played a game. Each of these teams are coming off opposite sides of the spectrum. Fort Worth is coming off a win over Oklahoma City, 17-7. On the other side, Shreveport is coming off a big loss against the top ranked Little Rock Stormers, 38-10. Both teams only wins have come against the Oklahoma City Crusaders. Shreveport has been shown to be a better offensive team, but Fort Worth has elements of being a better defensive team. Neither teams are ranked high in either categories in the Union. Despite this toss up, look for Shreveport to take the win in this close game.
Bay Area (0-3) at Houston United Rugby Team (3-0)
Houston United will be hosting Bay Area this weekend. Houston United has been dominate this season. They are leading the Red River Men’s D2 League in scoring defense, allowing only 24 points in three games. Houston United is also third in the league in scoring offense with 108 points on the season. Bay Area is at the bottom of the league in both categories. Houston United Rugby Team will take this game in dominate fashion.
Tulsa (3-0) at Little Rock (3-0)
This is the first round of the battle for the top of the Red River Men’s D2 North. Both these teams have been dominate this season. Both these teams reside in the top 4 in total points scored on offense, and are in the top 4 in scoring defense. Little Rock is lead by a strong pair of Centers in Michael Oliver and Chance Hugh. Tulsa is lead by Flyhalf, Louis Vuocolo, and Center, Brett Stremme. These are two evenly placed teams. Look for the home team to take this in a very very close win. Little Rock over Tulsa.
Katy Lions (2-1) at Woodlands (2-1)
The Katy Lions will be traveling to Austin, to take on The Woodlands Rugby team. The Woodlands are have been proficient since dropping from division 1 last year. Their only loss has come against Red River D2 South leader, Houston United. The Katy Lions have played the exact same teams this season, and have garnered similar results. The Woodlands have been far more dominant on offense and defense then the Katy Lions. All things being equal, look for Woodlands to take this game at home.

Memphis (1-0-1) at Knoxville (0-1)
Knoxville will be opening their spring season this week against Memphis. Knoxville has had only one game under their belt in a major loss against defending True South Champion, Chattanooga. Memphis is coming off a tie game against Nashville last week. A game that showcased Memphis losing the lead in the last 5 minutes of the game to end with a draw. Knoxville is known to be tough at home, and Memphis has yet to show what they can do against a better matched opponent. Look for Knoxville to take the win in this match.
THIS GAME IS POSTPONED UNTIL A FUTURE DATE
Hopkinsville (0-2) at Chattanooga (2-0)
Chattanooga will starting their Spring season as well. Hopkinsville has just not shown little ability to stop scoring offenses. Chattanooga is simply too powerful at all positions to have this be a match. Look for Chattanooga to run away with the win on this game.
Jackson (0-2) at Baton Rouge (1-0)
Baton Rouge will be hosting Jackson this weekend. Jackson will be playing their third game this spring season. Baton Rouge will be opening their first matrix game of the season. Jackson has struggled in each of their Rugby matches this spring as they’ve played against stiff competition. Look for this trend to continue against a tough Baton Rouge team who is looking for another top finish in the True South South. Baton Rouge is returning a tough back line, and powerful Pack. Look for Baton Rouge to take the win at home over Jackson.
Birmingham (2-0) at Battleship (0-2)
Birmingham will be traveling to Mobile, AL to take on Battleship. Birmingham has show spectacular play in their play this season with wins over Jackson and Montgomery. Battleship has played tough this season, losing games by only a penalty kick. Battleship is still yet to find a way to close games out. Unfortunately Birmingham is too powerful of a team to find that out against. Birmingham will take the powerful win over Battleship this weekend.

Carolina Rugby Union
Charlotte (5-1) at Atlanta Renegades (1-3)
Charlotte will be traveling to take on the Renegades this week. Charlotte has been pushing their abilities to the limits. Charlotte has a spectacular backline lead by Wing, Henry Hicks and Center, Justin-Kyle Anderson. Atlanta Renegades have struggled all this year. Look for this match to be no different as Charlotte takes the dominating win over Atlanta Renegades.
Greenville (4-1) at Ft. Braggs (0-4)
Another big mismatch, will face Greenville at Ft. Braggs. Greenville has been playing tough all season, with their only loss coming against Charlotte. Ft. Bragg is at the bottom of the league in offense and defense. They have already played Greenville earlier in the year and suffered a massive defeat. Look for Greenville to repeat the effort again with another dominating win over Ft. Braggs.
