New Orleans Rugby Club at Life University Rugby Club
Though this is not a matrix match, this is definitely one of the matches to watch. This will be a rematch of the 2014 D1 National Championship game, where New Orleans was defeated by Life University 39-7. Life University is probably one of the most powerful Rugby squads in the USA. New Orleans will have their hands full in this friendly match. Life University has been as dominate as ever. This will be a good match, but look for Life University to take this game.

Carolina Rugby Club
Ft. Bragg Rugby Club (0-6) at Charleston Rugby Club (0-5)
This is the battle of two struggling teams. Neither team has been very impressive this year. Charleston coming off a big loss against Charlotte losing 49-14. Ft. Bragg having forfeited their game against Atlanta Old White. There isn’t too much to say on either of these teams. Taking into consideration that Charleston will be missing two players in John Bryant and Chris Sigmund, as they travel to Mexico with the USA South Panthers squad, this will be a low scoring affair. Look for Charleston to take the win in this match up.
Greenville Rugby Club (6-1) at Atlanta Old White Rugby Club (4-1)
Atlanta Old White had the week off last week due to a forfeit from their opponent, Ft. Bragg. Greenville took the win over the Atlanta Renegades, 28-10. Greenville has been tough all season. They will be facing off against their second strongest opponent this season in Old White. This is the last matrix match for both teams. The advantage of taking the second place in the Carolina-Georgia Rugby Union. The top 4 teams will have a chance at the union championship, so the there is nothing on the line except for pride. Greenville has the lead over Atlanta Old White by 10 points. Regardless, look for Atlanta Old White to put up a major fight and take the win in this game.
Atlanta Renegades (1-4) at Life University JV
Life University JV may not be the initial starters for the Life University Undergrads, but they are still just as dominate. In the last game of the season, the Renegades would probably prefer to end their season on a positive note. Unfortunately considering that Life University, JV or not, still has plenty of Rugby to play after this matrix season concludes. Look for Life University to not show any signs of slow down and take the win in this match up.
Florida Rugby Union
Jacksonville Rugby Club (5-2) at Boca Raton Rugby Club (6-1)
Boca Raton had their first loss last week, in an upset, against Orlando 18-7. Jacksonville didn’t fair any better on the road against the Miami Trident, losing 30-15. While both teams did not fare well against their opponents, of the two teams only one seemed to place a competitive battle. Jacksonville’s defense seemed to falter when it is on the road. While at home, Jacksonville has allowed an average of 11 points per game, whereas on the road they have allowed an average of 24.5 points per game. Boca Raton was due for an upset last week, and received it, despite what some might have whispered from the sidelines. Being at home will give Boca Raton the chance to recover from last weeks match. I expect Boca Raton to take the win in this match up.
Miami Tridents (4-3) at Tampa Bay Krewe (0-7)
Miami Tridents will travel to Tampa coming off the fresh feeling of a win over Jacksonville. This game could be considered a trap game for the Tridents if they allow themselves to relax too much after a big win. Outside of the Tridents hurting themselves, I don’t foresee the Trident losing this game. Expect the Miami Trident to take this game with ease.
Orlando Rugby Club (5-2) at Miami Rugby Club (1-5)
Orlando is coming off of the same wave of celebration as the Miami Trident. Upsetting the only undefeated Club team in Florida is definitely something that deserve accolades. Just like the Trident, Orlando has the potential to find themselves in a trap game situation. Orlando has shown throughout the season to have inconsistencies in their playing habits. This Miami Rugby team should not pose a great challenge to them. Look for Orlando to take the win in this match up.
Ft. Lauderdale Rugby Club (5-2) at Naples Rugby Club (1-5)
Ft. Lauderdale will be travelling up to face the Naples Hammerheads. Ft. Lauderdale has been a strong team this season. Naples has struggled most of this season. I don’t expect Ft. Lauderdale to have any trouble against Naples. There is not much to add upon this. Look for Ft. Lauderdale to take the win in this game.

Texas Rugby Union
Little Rock Rugby Club (4-0) at Oklahoma City Crusaders (0-4)
Little Rock is back in business after the Red River Rugby Conference took a bit of week off at the division II level. Oklahoma City will be hosting the best team in the Red River North division. Oklahoma City has not posted a win this season, and the last time they played Little Rock, they lost 56-39. Little Rock has been absolutely dominate this season. I expect Little Rock to continue the trend and take the win over Oklahoma City.
Shreveport Rugby Club (1-3) at Tulsa Rugby Club (3-1)
Tulsa will be hosting Shreveport Rugby this weekend. The last time both these teams faced each other, the match came down to a missed extra conversion. Though Shreveport posts a record of 1-3 in the conference, they have been competitive in each of their rugby matches. Shreveport has had trouble closing out their matches. Tulsa has been very strong at home. They have seen their best offensive output when at home. Though I expect Shreveport to put together another competitive match against Tulsa, look for Tulsa to get the win in this one.
True South Rugby Union
Memphis Rugby Club (1-0-1) at Nashville Rugby Club (0-1-1)
Memphis will be travelling to Nashville for a rematch game. Last time these teams faced each other, both teams tied each other. In their previous match, Memphis lead most of the game but were unable to put Nashville away. Neither team has played a match since they played each other on February 14th. Look for this game to be a slow starting match. This will be another close game, look for Memphis to find a way to put Nashville away in this match and take the win.
Birmingham Rugby Club (3-0) at Baton Rouge Rugby Club (3-0)
Birmingham will be traveling to Baton Rouge to create a battle of undefeated. Both teams have shown the ability to win consistently this season. Baton Rouge has had difficulty separating themselves on offense keeping game much closer than they should, as was seen with close wins over Battleship (17-12), and Jackson (29-17). Baton Rouge was able to get a dominate win over Montgomery last week, defeating them 23-15. Baton Rouge’s defense has been the key component to their wins. Birmingham has been otherwise very dominate in their wins. Birmingham has outscored their opponents 114-31. Birmingham will be entering this match with a disadvantage as three key starters (#8 Brenden Smith, #13 Zach Blalock, and #15 Andrew Perkins). Home-field advantage and depth will be the key in this divisional rivalry match. Look for Baton Rouge to get the close win in this match up.
