Rugby Recap: January 19th-21st

With 2018 underway and Major League Rugby lighting up across the nation, footy has never looked more exciting in America. Here is your first score report of 2018 pertaining to Collegiate Rugby in America.

Men’s Collegiate D1A

In California D1A action, St. Mary’s took down UC Santa Barbara 74-7. Nearby San Diego State fell to Grand Canyon 22-18, while UCLA schooled USC 74-16. Last but not least, Cal defeated Cal Poly 81-6.

In Red River Conference play, Baylor took down Texas Tech 59-17. University of Houston fell to I-45 neighbors SHSU 44-17, and Life defeated LSU 103-0.

Women’s NSCRO All Star’s

It was an exciting weekend in Florida as the NSCRO Women’s 7s All-Star Championship got underway. Featuring the Allegheny, Lonestar, Mid-Atlantic, New England, Ohio Valley, Prairie States, South, Upstate New York Select Sides, competiton was fierce to say the least. After day one, It appeared as though Upstate New York could stay strong to win it all. After fierce competition on day two however, it was the South All-Stars who took the inaugural tournament title with Prairie States All-Star 7s taking second.

Men’s D2

In Lonestar Conference play, UNT defeated UT Dallas 70-3 while LeTourneau defeated Prairie View 33-19.
