Bryce Watson is no stranger to top level rugby so playing rugby at Texas Christian University was an easy decision for the scrum-half.
Watson got his start playing in his home state of California for a team his father’s work partner started. “I started playing 7 years ago when my dad’s work partners began a rugby club in downtown called the San Diego Wallabies and me and a couple of my friends decided to try it,” said the Biology major.
Playing for TCU has been an incredible expereince for Watson and he loves the guys he takes the pitch with. He continued, “Great group of guys that all just love to play the game. No parents or friends forcing them to play, they all just go out to have fun and hit some people.”
Watson is confident that the new strategy the team has in place will take them to the next level. He is ready to take the field against LSU this weekend. “Honestly, after playing U of Oklahoma, a team near LSU’s caliber, we decided to change our game plan. So far the new game plan has been working better than expected in our scrimmages and as long as we can stop their backs, I think there’s a high chance of an underdog story developing,” stated Watson.
