You cannot be excited when rugby gets featured in any mainstream media arena. Add that when your country invests money in using rugby as a promotional tool.
Women’s rugby in the USA has definitely been on an upswing the last couple years. The USA Rugby Eagles Women killed it in the Women’s Rugby World Cup. They showed out in the Olympics in 2016. From a grassroots level, the development of the game (while still having a ways to go to get the full respect it deserves) has been improving monumentally. Now you have the US Marines recognizing what it means to make #HERRUGBYCOUNT, especially with a major national spot like the NFL regular season opener.
Cheers to the US Marines for their recognition of the women in rugby.
